How it works
What Happens When You Call Kennedy Electric
Emailed on Sunday, fixed on Tuesday
“I left an email on Sunday outlining my issue. I received a call back Monday morning from a kind office staff that scheduled me for Tuesday. My electrian, Randy, already aware of what he was coming for, had everything he needed to fix the issue in less than an hour. He was so kind, informative and efficient. I highly recommend Kennedy electric and will continue using them for future needs.”
Tell us what's going on
Say what isn't working, where you are, and how long it has been going on. Our office staff asks a few questions before booking the visit. If it is easier, send the request online with a photo of the panel, the outlet, or whatever is worrying you.
Repairs get an electrician; installs and upgrades get an estimate
A repair is scheduled with an electrician. An install or upgrade starts with a visit from our estimator, who looks at what you want, confirms what the code and the power company require, and emails your estimate by the end of the next business day for most jobs.
We look before we fix
When we arrive, we introduce ourselves, go over why you called, and evaluate the job. Then we walk you through what we found and how we would fix it. With your go-ahead, we do the work, or we write up an estimate for a bigger job.
We handle the permit and the inspection
When a job needs a permit, we pull it, work with the power company, and schedule the inspection.
How a panel upgrade worksYou pay for what was used
The invoice covers the time on site and the materials used on your job. If something we installed fails because of our workmanship within 30 days, call the office, and we come back without charging the hourly labor.

What we don't do
- We don't install standby generators or the automatic transfer switches that go with them, and we don't maintain generators of any kind. We connect your portable generator with an inlet, interlock, or manual transfer switch.
- We don't install solar or do appliance repair.
- Smart thermostats and attic or whole-house fans go to an HVAC contractor.
- Home theater and whole-house audio go to an audio-video specialist, and we're glad to point you to one.
- We don't install or monitor alarm or security systems. For cameras and doorbells, we run the power and the cabling, and we don't set up apps.
- On commercial jobs, we don't do fire alarm systems, access control, commercial or fleet EV charging, or heavy industrial work.
- We install only materials listed by UL or ETL, and that includes fixtures you supply.
Before you hire any electrician
Four Things to Check When You Hire an Electrician
These four questions apply to any electrician you call, including us.
Is the contractor licensed for electrical work?
In Florida, electrical contracting requires a license, and you can look up any contractor's license number on the Department of Business and Professional Regulation's website before you let someone into your panel.
How was the price reached?
A firm price for a repair nobody has diagnosed is a guess. A price set that way can include problems your house doesn't have. Ask how the number was reached and what happens if the job turns out to be something else.
Is this really a do-it-yourself job?
A breaker swap or a new circuit looks simple in a video. Mistakes inside a panel don't always show right away; they show up later as heat, tripping, or damage. Work done by the owner also falls outside our warranty.
Is the lowest bid the whole job?
Before you pick the lowest number, read what it includes: the permit, inspection, materials, and warranty. Ask who does the work and who you call if something goes wrong a month later. Then check the company's reviews and the total.
For businesses
Commercial Electrical Work for Businesses, Schools, and Public Buildings
On the commercial side, we handle troubleshooting and repairs, lighting and LED conversions, signs, and build-outs for shopping plazas, restaurants, offices, apartment complexes, school facilities, and public agencies, including the Florida Highway Patrol and local law enforcement. We schedule the work around your business hours.
Have a question
Questions We Get Asked
Can you come out at night or on a weekend?
Our office is closed nights and weekends. Calls after hours are returned the next business day. No power or no water because the well pump lost power counts as an emergency, and emergency estimates are done the same business day. An appliance outlet, pool equipment, or an air conditioner that lost power feels urgent too, but it can wait for a regular visit. If you smell burning or see smoke, get everyone out and call 911.
Do you install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors?
Yes. A combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector makes sense when the home has any fuel-burning appliance or an attached garage. We install new smoke and CO detectors and replace old ones.
My home is older. What should I have checked?
If the house was built before the late 1970s, ask about aluminum branch wiring. If the panel is a Federal Pacific or Zinsco, or simply old, have it looked at. An electrical evaluation of the devices and the panel tells you where you stand.
How can I pay?
Check, cash, credit and debit cards, and ACH.
