Agreement to these terms
By using this website or requesting service from Kennedy Electric, you agree to these terms. If a signed estimate, contract, or invoice for a specific job says something different, the job document controls for that job. Kennedy Electric is a Florida Certified Electrical Contractor, license EC13011268, located at 1160 Ponce De Leon Blvd, Brooksville, FL 34601.
Using this website
Information on this website describes our services and how we work. It is general information, not a quote and not advice for your specific property. Electrical work is dangerous; nothing on this site is an invitation to do electrical work yourself. If you see sparks, smoke, or fire, or anyone is in danger, call 911.
Submitting a service request online does not by itself schedule an appointment. Our office contacts you during business hours to confirm.
Service calls and repair billing
Repair and troubleshooting visits are billed by the hour from arrival: $100 residential, $150 commercial, one-hour minimum, then half-hour increments, plus materials. There is no trip charge, service fee, or set-up fee. Your electrician reviews the findings and the fix with you before doing the work or writing an estimate.
Estimates and quotes
We offer free estimates on installations, upgrades, and replacements in our service area. Estimates are not free when the job needs troubleshooting or testing to price, falls after hours or outside our service area, needs several meetings to gather information, or is new construction or a custom remodel with multi-party walk-throughs.
- For most jobs, estimates arrive by email by the end of the next business day.
- Quotes are good for 30 days.
- Work beyond the scope of an approved estimate, including conditions found once work begins, is discussed with you and priced before it is done.
Payment
We accept check, cash, credit and debit cards, and ACH. A 3.5% surcharge applies to card and ACH payments. Payment is due under the terms stated on your estimate or invoice. Unpaid balances may be subject to collection costs and the remedies allowed under Florida law, including Florida’s construction lien law.
Our warranty
If something we installed fails because of our workmanship within 30 days of completion, we waive the hourly labor to put it right. Materials Kennedy Electric purchases for your job carry the manufacturer’s one-year warranty.
- To replace defective materials we supplied, or materials damaged by storm, flood, fire, or other acts of God, we charge a reduced warranty labor rate of $50 an hour residential and $75 an hour commercial.
- The warranty does not cover materials not purchased by Kennedy Electric, work performed by the customer, or materials the customer purchased or damaged.
- Product boxes stay with you so you can register each product with its manufacturer.
- Our warranty terms are printed on the estimate, the invoice, and the receipt.
Customer-supplied materials
If you buy a fixture, fan, charger, or other material yourself, we can install it, but it is not covered by our warranty and you deal directly with its manufacturer for any warranty claim. Labor to remove or replace a customer-supplied item that fails is billed at our regular rates.
Scheduling and access
Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Calls and requests received after hours are returned the next business day. You agree to give us safe, clear access to the work area, the electrical panel, and the meter, and to let us know about pets, gate codes, and anything else we need to know before we arrive. Some jobs require the power to be off for part of the day.
Permits, inspections, and the power company
When a job requires a permit, we apply for it and schedule the county or city inspection. Permit fees are included in your estimate or invoice. You agree to provide access for the inspector. Where a job requires a power shut-off and restore, we coordinate it with your power company; the power company’s own schedule and requirements are outside our control.
Existing conditions
Older wiring, panels, and equipment may hide conditions that can’t be seen until work begins. We are not responsible for pre-existing defects, code violations, or damage we did not cause, but we will tell you what we find and quote any needed corrections separately. Normal access work, such as small openings in drywall to run or trace wiring, may be needed; patching and painting are not included unless your estimate says so.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by Florida law, Kennedy Electric is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, such as lost profits, spoiled food, or business interruption, arising from a power outage, equipment failure, or delay outside our reasonable control, including storms, utility outages, supply shortages, and permit or inspection delays. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute will be handled in the state courts located in Hernando County, Florida, unless the law requires otherwise.
