Federal Pacific & Zinsco Panel Replacement in Wesley Chapel, FL
For the Older Houses, Barns, and Shops Among the New Ones|Licensed & Insured, EC13011268
Most Wesley Chapel homes were built in 2000 or later, and Federal Pacific panels date to decades earlier. So when one turns up here, it tends to be a surprise: a line on a 4-point report, a letter from the insurer, or a maker's name behind the door of a house built before the town grew. Kennedy Electric replaces Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels outright and moves every circuit to the new one.
The build year and any insurer deadline help us plan the visit.
Call (352) 251-2795, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or send a request online. Calls after hours are returned the next business day.

At a glance
The Older Wesley Chapel Homes and Their Panels
Wesley Chapel has about 2,100 homes built in the 1980s, about 900 in the 1970s, about 230 in the 1960s, and about 50 in the 1950s, by Census Bureau estimates. Federal Pacific panels were installed in houses from about the 1950s into the 1980s, so the houses from the 1950s through the 1970s fall inside that span, and a 1980s house may or may not. Quail Hollow and Angus Valley are among the oldest neighborhoods here, in the Quail Hollow Alliance's words, and Quail Hollow is a large-lot area with semi-rural pockets, with lots beside open land mostly 2 to 14 acres, where a barn or workshop can have its own panel.
Citizens request a 4-point inspection when an application covers a home more than 20 years old, and the inspector's form includes a line for the main panel brand and another for a second panel, along with a photo of the main panel's door label. An insurance inspection is one way a Federal Pacific or Zinsco name can come to light in a Wesley Chapel house. Replacing one takes a Pasco County permit, whatever the job costs. The shut-off date is set with the power company, and the house is turned back on once the county releases it.
How it runs
The Owner's Calendar for a Panel Change
-
1
Before anyone visits
Open the panel door, leave the inner cover on, and photograph the label, or send the page of the 4-point report that names the panel. Add the year the house was built and any date your insurer has set.
-
2
Once you approve the estimate
We file for the Pasco permit, line up the shut-off with the power company, and set the work date with you around both.
-
3
On the day
The service is cut, and the old panel is swapped for the new one. Every circuit goes across with a fresh label and a check. Nothing in the house runs while the work is underway, so plan the fridge and the cooling around it.
-
4
After the county's inspection
Pasco inspects the new panel and releases the power, and the house is switched back on. The invoice and the inspection record are yours to send to the insurer.

What we cover
Where the Replacement Reaches
The panel in the garage or on the outside wall: The flagged panel comes out, and the new one goes in, set up to what the permit and the power company require. If the house now needs more capacity than the old panel had, the estimate shows that option beside a same-size replacement.
Every circuit it fed: Each circuit moves to a breaker listed for the new panel, gets a label that says what it feeds, and is tested before the panel is closed up.
A second panel in a barn, shop, or addition: Its label is read too. If it carries the same name, it can be replaced in the same job.
Heat marks found along the way: A wire end scorched at an old breaker isn't fit to land on a new one, so it's cut back to sound wire or repaired before it goes on.
The paperwork your insurer wants: The itemized invoice and the passed county inspection are the record you send your agent.
Pricing
What Shapes the Replacement Quote
Custom homes and large or multi-phase projects are estimated as soon as we can, or on the timeline your project sets.
We don't do upfront pricing. No job has a standard price with us: each one is tailored to the property and the work you've asked for, and priced once we've seen it.
We offer free estimates on installs, upgrades, and replacements in our service area. Estimates aren't free when the job needs troubleshooting or testing to price, falls after hours or outside our service area, needs several meetings to gather information, or is new construction or a custom remodel with multi-party walk-throughs. For most jobs, estimates arrive by email by the end of the next business day, and quotes are good for 30 days.
Our warranty
03If something we installed fails because of our workmanship within 30 days of completion, we waive the hourly labor to put it right. Materials Kennedy Electric purchases for your job carry the manufacturer's one-year warranty. To replace defective materials we supplied, or materials damaged by storm, flood, fire, or other acts of God, we charge a reduced warranty labor rate of $50 an hour residential and $75 an hour commercial. The warranty does not cover materials not purchased by Kennedy Electric, work performed by the customer, or materials the customer purchased or damaged. Our warranty terms are printed on the estimate, the invoice, and the receipt, and the product boxes stay with you so you can register each product with its manufacturer.
We're in Quail Hollow on a few acres. Does the barn's panel matter if the house panel is newer?
The label on ours says Zinsco. Is that job any different from a Federal Pacific change?
Our panel says Federal Pacific, and nothing seems wrong with it. Why replace it?
Will the wiring in the rooms in our Wesley Chapel house be replaced as well?
Our insurer gave us a deadline. Can the replacement be finished in time?
