Ceiling fan on a long downrod in a room with a high ceiling.

A fan job in a Wesley Chapel house can take in several ceilings at once, and each has something different above it: one switched wire in a bedroom, a motor housing too high to reach in the great room, and on the lanai, a roof that may have no framing to hang a fan from.

Call (352) 251-2795, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or send a request online. Calls after hours are returned the next business day.

Room by room

What Each Ceiling Changes About the Fan

01

One switched wire in a bedroom ceiling

Where a bedroom's ceiling light is controlled by one wall switch, there's one switched wire in the ceiling. The fan and its light share that switch unless a remote or a new cable separates them.

02

A reverse switch out of reach in the great room

On a great-room ceiling too high for a stepladder, the motor housing's reverse switch can't be reached. Speed, light, and direction go on a wall control or a remote.

03

A lanai under an aluminum pan roof

A lanai under the house's own roof has framing above it. An aluminum pan or insulated-panel roof has none, so a fan there has to hang from a structural beam or a fan beam made for that roof.

Fans near the water

A Lanai Fan Beside the Pool

The electrical code's pool rules name ceiling fans along with light fixtures. They set clearances for a fan near a pool, measured out from the pool's inside wall and up from the water level. On a lanai whose roofed area stops close to the pool, that can move the fan toward the house wall or rule out a spot over the deck.

Two measurements determine it: the distance from the pool's edge to the spot you have in mind, and the ceiling height there.

Frequently asked questions

Remotes When Several Fans Match

We're putting the same fan in several bedrooms. Will one remote run them all?

It can happen. Fans of the same model can leave the factory set to the same remote code, so a remote in one bedroom changes the fan in the next. Each remote is paired with its own fan, or set to its own code, as the fans go up. A wall control wired to the fan avoids the question.

Pricing

Quoting Several Fans at Once

01

We don't do upfront pricing. No job has a standard price with us: each one is tailored to the property and the work you've asked for, and priced once we've seen it.

We offer free estimates on installs, upgrades, and replacements in our service area. Estimates aren't free when the job needs troubleshooting or testing to price, falls after hours or outside our service area, needs several meetings to gather information, or is new construction or a custom remodel with multi-party walk-throughs. For most jobs, estimates arrive by email by the end of the next business day, and quotes are good for 30 days.

02

Custom homes and large or multi-phase projects are estimated as soon as we can, or on the timeline your project sets.

Warranty on fans you supply and fans we supply

03

You can supply the fans yourself, as long as each one is UL- or ETL-listed.

If something we installed fails because of our workmanship within 30 days of completion, we waive the hourly labor to put it right. Materials Kennedy Electric purchases for your job carry the manufacturer's one-year warranty. To replace defective materials we supplied, or materials damaged by storm, flood, fire, or other acts of God, we charge a reduced warranty labor rate of $50 an hour residential and $75 an hour commercial. The warranty does not cover materials not purchased by Kennedy Electric, work performed by the customer, or materials the customer purchased or damaged. Our warranty terms are printed on the estimate, the invoice, and the receipt, and the product boxes stay with you so you can register each product with its manufacturer.
