Retail storefront being rewired for a salon.

A storefront that sold clothing was wired for racks, registers, and display lights. When a blow-dry bar, a facial studio, or a café signs the next lease, the circuits get planned again around styling chairs, treatment beds, and a cooking line.

Second-generation space at Wiregrass

New Uses Moving Into The Shops at Wiregrass

The Shops at Wiregrass, the open-air center on State Road 56 off I-75, opened in 2008 and covers about 800,000 square feet. In 2026, it announced a wave of new tenants, including a facial bar, a creperie, and a Turkish restaurant, as well as apparel and jewelry stores.

Storefronts that already had a tenant

Many of the center's storefronts have been leased before. A retail suite is typically set up for selling goods and includes lighting, a few wall receptacles, and a register circuit. A salon or a kitchen draws power at every station and runs much of it at once.

What Each Use needs

What Each New Use Asks of a Storefront's Circuits

The circuits are planned from the manufacturers' spec sheets for the chairs, devices, and kitchen equipment.

New useEquipment that sets the planWhat the wiring has to do
Blow-dry or styling barA handheld dryer and hot tools at every chair, and shampoo bowlsReceptacles at each station, spread over enough circuits for dryers running side by side; GFCI protection near the sinks
Facial bar or med spaTreatment devices, beds, and task lighting in small roomsCircuits matched to each device's specifications, dedicated where a device calls for one, at 208 or 240 volts where its label says so
Creperie, café, or restaurantGriddles, ovens, refrigeration, and dish equipmentA dedicated circuit for each appliance, and a panel with the room and capacity to carry the line
A move into a larger suiteThe equipment the business already ownsCircuits laid out around that equipment in the new floor plan

Frequently asked questions

Reusing the Old Store's Receptacles

Can the old store's wall receptacles serve our styling stations?

An old box can be reused where it lands at a station, but the stations still get their own circuit plan.

Pricing

How We Quote a Storefront Build-Out

01

We don't do upfront pricing. No job has a standard price with us: each one is tailored to the property and the work you've asked for, and priced once we've seen it.

We offer free estimates on installs, upgrades, and replacements in our service area. Estimates aren't free when the job needs troubleshooting or testing to price, falls after hours or outside our service area, needs several meetings to gather information, or is new construction or a custom remodel with multi-party walk-throughs. For most jobs, estimates arrive by email by the end of the next business day, and quotes are good for 30 days.

02

Custom homes and large or multi-phase projects are estimated as soon as we can, or on the timeline your project sets.

How the warranty applies to a build-out

03

If something we installed fails because of our workmanship within 30 days of completion, we waive the hourly labor to put it right. Materials Kennedy Electric purchases for your job carry the manufacturer's one-year warranty. To replace defective materials we supplied, or materials damaged by storm, flood, fire, or other acts of God, we charge a reduced warranty labor rate of $50 an hour residential and $75 an hour commercial. The warranty does not cover materials not purchased by Kennedy Electric, work performed by the customer, or materials the customer purchased or damaged. Our warranty terms are printed on the estimate, the invoice, and the receipt, and the product boxes stay with you so you can register each product with its manufacturer.
