Federal Pacific and Zinsco Panel Replacement in Spring Hill, FL
Panels Named in Insurers' Rules|Permit, Inspection, and Reconnection|Licensed & Insured, EC13011268
A Spring Hill house built before 1990 may still have the panel it was built with. If the label inside the panel door reads Federal Pacific, Stab-Lok, Zinsco, Sylvania, or Challenger, those names appear in Florida insurers' rules, so the replacement is worth planning around the day the house is insured or sold.
Call (352) 251-2795, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or send a request online. Calls after hours are returned the next business day.

A 1980s Spring Hill House and Its Panel Label
Where the brands' production ends
Federal Pacific made Stab-Lok breakers from the 1950s. The Consumer Product Safety Commission's review, closed in 1983, focused mainly on two-pole breakers made before 1979, and Stab-Lok breakers turn up in houses built through the 1980s.
About 22,000 homes in Spring Hill were built before 1990, most of them in the 1980s. Only the label inside each panel door indicates which brand a house has, including a second panel in the garage or an addition.
The names on carriers' lists
Some carriers' published guides name Sylvania, Challenger, and Stab-Lok as well as Federal Pacific and Zinsco. The current rule for your policy comes from your agent.

2. Power off, inspection, power back
We arrange the shut-off with your power company and book the county inspection; power is restored once the inspection passes.
Estimates
Replacement Estimates for Spring Hill Panels
We don't do upfront pricing. No job has a standard price with us: each one is tailored to the property and the work you've asked for, and priced once we've seen it.
We offer free estimates on installs, upgrades, and replacements in our service area. Estimates aren't free when the job needs troubleshooting or testing to price, falls after hours or outside our service area, needs several meetings to gather information, or is new construction or a custom remodel with multi-party walk-throughs. For most jobs, estimates arrive by email by the end of the next business day, and quotes are good for 30 days.
Custom homes and large or multi-phase projects are estimated as soon as we can, or on the timeline your project sets.
Our warranty
03If something we installed fails because of our workmanship within 30 days of completion, we waive the hourly labor to put it right. Materials Kennedy Electric purchases for your job carry the manufacturer's one-year warranty. To replace defective materials we supplied, or materials damaged by storm, flood, fire, or other acts of God, we charge a reduced warranty labor rate of $50 an hour residential and $75 an hour commercial. The warranty does not cover materials not purchased by Kennedy Electric, work performed by the customer, or materials the customer purchased or damaged. Our warranty terms are printed on the estimate, the invoice, and the receipt, and the product boxes stay with you so you can register each product with its manufacturer.
We're buying a Spring Hill house with a Federal Pacific panel. When should we deal with it?
We're selling. Should we replace the panel before we list?
The label says Sylvania or Challenger. Is that a Zinsco?
Our main breaker is outside, in the same box as the meter. Does that change the job?
