EV Charger Installation in Homosassa, FL
For Year-Round and Winter Homes, East and West of US 19|Licensed & Insured, EC13011268
We installed Level 2 home chargers throughout Homosassa, including Homosassa Springs, the community east of US 19 that shares the Homosassa name. Where the charger goes depends on the home: a garage wall, a carport, the high side of a lot near the water, or a winter home closed for the summer.
Say if the car parks in a garage or under a carport.

At a glance
Electric Heat and Part-Year Owners
More than nine in ten occupied homes in Homosassa and Homosassa Springs heat with electricity, according to census estimates. On a cold night, the heat and a charging car can draw simultaneously, so the load check accounts for the heat before the charger's circuit is sized.
Close to 1,500 homes in the two places are held for seasonal or occasional use, by the same estimates, roughly four in ten of the homes in Homosassa itself, west of the highway. Citrus County's evacuation orders have described Zone A as the areas west of US 19 and portions east of it, which matters for where on the lot the charger goes.
How it runs
Steps for a Charger at a Part-Year Home
-
1
The weeks you'll be here
Send the car's onboard charging rating, listed in the owner's manual, or the model of a wall unit you've bought, and for a winter home, the weeks you'll be in town. The rating sets the circuit size, and the dates set the schedule.
-
2
A visit to measure the run
The estimator walks the path from the panel to the parking spot, checks the panel's open spaces and the load already on it, and notes whether the unit will be indoors or out. Where the unit extends outside, the route along the outside wall is included in the measurement.
-
3
The Citrus County permit
The electrical permit comes from Citrus County; we apply for it and schedule the inspection for after the wiring is done. On those days, the panel and the charger spot need to be reachable.
-
4
A first charge with you there
Once the wiring is done, the car can take its first charge from the new circuit while you're there to see it. The new circuit's breaker is labeled at the panel, so you can find it again next season.

What we cover
Garage, Carport, Waterside, or Winter Home
The year-round house with a garage: A 14-50 receptacle for a portable cord, up to 50 amps, or a hardwired wall unit, its circuit sized to the unit's label and capped at 60 amps, set on the wall closest to where the car's charging port faces.
The home with a carport and no garage: With no garage wall to use, the charger goes outside, and the estimator works out where its circuit can start, at the panel inside or at the service outside, before it's priced.
The lot near the water: The charger is best placed inside the garage, or on the higher side of the lot, rather than at a low spot by the driveway, so the unit and its outlet sit as far from rising water as the lot allows.
The winter home: Give your dates when you book; the visit, the install, and the county's inspection can then be planned for the weeks you're here.
The panel already carrying a heating load: That describes most homes in Homosassa and Homosassa Springs. If the heat and the charger together exceed what the panel can handle, the choices are an upgraded panel or a load-management device.
Pricing
Wall Runs and Panel Work on the Estimate
Custom homes and large or multi-phase projects are estimated as soon as we can, or on the timeline your project sets.
How far the parking spot is from the panel determines the price. A run along an outside wall, or work at the panel to make room for the new circuit, adds to the job, and whichever applies is shown on the estimate before any work is booked.
We don't do upfront pricing. No job has a standard price with us: each one is tailored to the property and the work you've asked for, and priced once we've seen it.
We offer free estimates on installs, upgrades, and replacements in our service area. Estimates aren't free when the job needs troubleshooting or testing to price, falls after hours or outside our service area, needs several meetings to gather information, or is new construction or a custom remodel with multi-party walk-throughs. For most jobs, estimates arrive by email by the end of the next business day, and quotes are good for 30 days.
Our warranty
04If something we installed fails because of our workmanship within 30 days of completion, we waive the hourly labor to put it right. Materials Kennedy Electric purchases for your job carry the manufacturer's one-year warranty. To replace defective materials we supplied, or materials damaged by storm, flood, fire, or other acts of God, we charge a reduced warranty labor rate of $50 an hour residential and $75 an hour commercial. The warranty does not cover materials not purchased by Kennedy Electric, work performed by the customer, or materials the customer purchased or damaged. Our warranty terms are printed on the estimate, the invoice, and the receipt, and the product boxes stay with you so you can register each product with its manufacturer.
