EV Charger Installation in Trinity, FL

Home Charging Planned Around Your Routine|Licensed & Insured, EC13011268

In a Trinity household, one car may come home low every evening while another sits in the garage for days. The home circuit is planned around that routine: where each car is parked overnight, how often it charges, and whether a second car will share the panel.

Say which car you drive, or plan to.

At a glance

Houses of Their Own, Often With Two Cars

Nearly nine in ten Trinity homes are detached houses, about seven in ten households keep two or more vehicles, and, by census estimates, mobile homes are nearly absent, so a home charger here usually serves a garage or a driveway spot at a house of its own, sometimes for two cars. The public plugs listed for the 34655 ZIP are two fast-charging sites, a Tesla Supercharger on Little Road and a Walmart site on State Road 54, with no public Level 2 charger among them.

In Heritage Springs, the association's rules require vehicles to be parked in designated areas, on the driveway, or in the garage, with no street parking after midnight, and any change to the exterior of a home requires written approval from its Architectural Control Committee, requested by the owner. So the charger is planned for the garage or the driveway.

How it runs

Planning the Install Around Your Week

  1. 1

    Before the visit

Send the car's year, make, and model, or the charger's model number, and say where the car parks at night. The onboard charger's rating determines the circuit size, so a car still on order can be planned based on its published specs.

  2. 2

    Measuring at the house

The estimator looks at the panel's capacity and open spaces, measures the route to the parking spot, and talks through receptacle versus wall unit with you. The estimator also asks how often the car charges, since a car that charges nightly and one that charges twice a week can end at different equipment. Your written estimate follows by email.

  3. 3

A clear path to the panel

On the day, the panel and the charger's spot need to be clear, with the car moved out of the way if it blocks either. The circuit then runs from the panel along the route measured at the visit, to the receptacle or wall unit you chose.

  4. 4

    The first week of charging

Once the charger is on the wall, the routine you planned for takes over: the car that comes home low each evening charges overnight, and the one that sits for days charges whenever it's plugged in. If the household's driving changes in those first weeks- a second car or a longer commute- tell us, and the estimate for the next step starts from what is already on the wall.

What we cover

Matched to How the Car Gets Charged

Every night, after the workday: The setup for daily driving: a circuit sized to the car's onboard charger, ending at a hardwired wall unit or a 14-50 receptacle on the wall closest to the charging port, so the car can charge overnight. It suits a car that comes home low on charge most evenings.

A few times a week: If the car sits for long stretches, a 14-50 receptacle and a 240-volt portable cord can be all it needs. The circuit behind the receptacle can still be sized to take a wall unit if the driving changes.

Two cars at one house: With most Trinity households keeping two or more vehicles, the estimate can price a second circuit now or leave room for one later, and the load check says whether the panel can carry both.

A plug-in hybrid now, a full EV later: A hybrid charges at a lower rate, but the wire pulled for it can be sized for the next car, so the run isn't replaced when the household moves to a full EV.

Room for a Second Car, Priced

01

Custom homes and large or multi-phase projects are estimated as soon as we can, or on the timeline your project sets.

02

A second circuit for a second car, wire sized now for a full EV that hasn't arrived yet, and how far the run goes between the panel and where the car parks each change the price. The written estimate shows a load-management device or a panel change as an option.

03

We don't do upfront pricing. No job has a standard price with us: each one is tailored to the property and the work you've asked for, and priced once we've seen it.

We offer free estimates on installations, upgrades, and replacements in our service area. Estimates aren't free when the job needs troubleshooting or testing to price, falls after hours or outside our service area, needs several meetings to gather information, or is new construction or a custom remodel with multi-party walk-throughs. For most jobs, estimates arrive by email by the end of the next business day, and quotes are good for 30 days.

Our warranty

04

If something we installed fails because of our workmanship within 30 days of completion, we waive the hourly labor to put it right. Materials Kennedy Electric purchases for your job carry the manufacturer's one-year warranty. To replace defective materials we supplied, or materials damaged by storm, flood, fire, or other acts of God, we charge a reduced warranty labor rate of $50 an hour residential and $75 an hour commercial. The warranty does not cover materials not purchased by Kennedy Electric, work performed by the customer, or materials the customer purchased or damaged. Our warranty terms are printed on the estimate, the invoice, and the receipt, and the product boxes stay with you so you can register each product with its manufacturer.

Common questions

Charger Choices at a Trinity House

We've added a pool pump and a bigger air conditioner since our Trinity house was built. Do they count against a charger?

They do. About three in four Trinity homes were built between 2000 and 2019, according to census estimates, and a house that still has its original panel may also retain whatever the owners have added since then. The load check counts every one of those loads before the charger, and if the panel comes up tight, the estimate offers panel work or a device that manages the load.

We're in Heritage Springs, and the car stays on the driveway. Can the charger reach it there?

Yes. The unit goes on the garage front or an outside wall near the driveway, and it must carry an outdoor rating. Because the association requires written approval for exterior changes, get the committee's approval on where the unit and any outside conduit will be located before we book the install.

We drive a plug-in hybrid. Is a Level 2 circuit worth it?

It helps. A hybrid's onboard charger takes less power than most full EVs, so its circuit can be smaller, and the battery still fills in a few hours.

Does the county inspect the charger once it's in?

Yes. A new 240-volt circuit is permitted work in Pasco, and the county inspects it after the install. We file the permit and book the inspection, and your part is to make the garage or driveway accessible that day.

We already bought a wall charger. Can you install the one we have?

Yes, as long as it carries the listing noted above. Include its model number when you request the estimate, so the circuit is sized to the label and the mounting spot is planned before the visit.
