Storm Damage Electrical Repair in Bayonet Point, FL
For Rainwater, Creek Flooding, and Wind at the Service|Licensed & Insured, EC13011268
Storm damage in Bayonet Point tends to come as rain and wind: water off low ground or a swollen creek, and limbs on the line to the house. Whatever the water reached stays off until it's been checked, and the riser comes first when a limb has pulled it loose.
Say what the water reached, and which rooms still have power.
Call (352) 251-2795, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or send a request online. Calls after hours are returned the next business day.

At a glance
Creeks, Rain, and Limbs Away From the Gulf
Bayonet Point has very little open water inside its boundaries, about 0.05 square miles of its 5.7, yet stormwater still finds its way here. A road bridge over a Bayonet Point creek lost a lane to Tropical Storm Debby in 2012, neighbors told the Tampa Bay Times. In 2015, weeks of rain that began in late July washed out the bridge's edge again, at a time when county crews were tending to more than 150 damaged streets. Rain on low ground and creeks over their banks can reach a garage outlet, an outdoor box, or an air conditioner's disconnect away from the Gulf shore.
When Hurricane Milton approached, Pasco ordered everyone in a manufactured home, mobile home, or RV anywhere in the county, as well as those in low-lying or flood-prone areas, to evacuate. The order reached every household in a Bayonet Point mobile home, so a storm repair here can start with an owner coming home to a house that sat closed up while the power came and went.

Coming Home After an Evacuation Order

1
Look before anything is switched on
Walk the outside first. Stay clear of a line on the ground or a bent riser and report it to your power company. Don't turn on anything the water reached, and don't open a panel that got wet. Call 911 if there is smoke, sparks, or fire.

Tell us what the water and wind reached
A photo of the water line on a wall, the outdoor equipment, and the riser helps the office sort the call. No power or no water because the well pump lost power counts as an emergency, and emergency estimates are done the same business day.

3
The repair, with the affected circuits off
Wet devices, breakers, and any wire or box that the water sat in are removed and replaced, while those circuits stay dark.
-
4
Power back, circuit by circuit
Each repaired circuit is tested first, and only then is it switched on again. Once the power company reconnects the house, the repair on your side is finished and ready for them.

What we cover
Sorted by What Reached the Wiring
A house that sat closed up: Breakers found off after a long absence, a refrigerator circuit that won't stay on, or rooms with only part of their power. Each is traced to its cause before the circuit is left on.
Water that rose from the ground: Outlets low on garage and porch walls, outdoor receptacles, and the disconnect beside the air conditioner. Each device the water got to is replaced, and its circuit is tested before it carries power again.
Limbs and wind at the service: A riser, weatherhead, or meter base pulled loose on the house's end of the service, repaired so the power company can reconnect the house.
Rain pushed in by the wind: A porch light or an outdoor box that filled with water, and a GFCI that won't hold after the rain. The wet device is replaced, and a weatherproof cover goes on where the box had none.

What a Storm Repair Is Priced On
Custom homes and large or multi-phase projects are estimated as soon as we can, or on the timeline your project sets.
The size of a storm repair follows what the storm reached: how many circuits had water in them, and whether the riser or meter base came down with a limb.
We don't do upfront pricing. No job has a standard price with us: each one is tailored to the property and the work you've asked for, and priced once we've seen it.
We offer free estimates on installs, upgrades, and replacements in our service area. Estimates aren't free when the job needs troubleshooting or testing to price, falls after hours or outside our service area, needs several meetings to gather information, or is new construction or a custom remodel with multi-party walk-throughs. For most jobs, estimates arrive by email by the end of the next business day, and quotes are good for 30 days.
Our warranty
04If something we installed fails because of our workmanship within 30 days of completion, we waive the hourly labor to put it right. Materials Kennedy Electric purchases for your job carry the manufacturer's one-year warranty. To replace defective materials we supplied, or materials damaged by storm, flood, fire, or other acts of God, we charge a reduced warranty labor rate of $50 an hour residential and $75 an hour commercial. The warranty does not cover materials not purchased by Kennedy Electric, work performed by the customer, or materials the customer purchased or damaged. Our warranty terms are printed on the estimate, the invoice, and the receipt, and the product boxes stay with you so you can register each product with its manufacturer.
