Commercial Electrical Repair in Bayonet Point, FL

When a Desk, a Suite, or a Whole Building Goes Dark|Licensed & Insured, EC13011268

When power fails at a Bayonet Point business, how much went dark is the first clue to where the fault lies. Kennedy Electric traces it to that point and repairs it, whether it took out one receptacle, one suite, or the service the whole building shares.

Say how much has stopped: one outlet, one room, the suite, or the building.

A Hospital Since 1981, and the Offices Near It

The hospital that bears Bayonet Point's name has served the community since 1981 on Fivay Road, and it is the only Level II trauma center in Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus counties. Medical offices line State Road 52, too. Just east of US 19, at 7509 State Road 52 in Hudson, a three-building office complex includes the two-story, 33,000-square-foot medical office building that Pasco County commissioners voted in 2021 to buy for the health department's west-side services. So, along these corridors, the business that loses power may be an office with patients or clients booked for the day, as well as a shop or a restaurant.

Pasco draws a line for commercial work: an electric trade permit is required whenever a job adds or extends a circuit or changes the service. For an office whose new equipment calls for a dedicated circuit, that line can be where a repair ends and a permitted job begins, and Kennedy Electric files for that permit when it does.

How it runs

Who Calls, and What Happens Next

  1. 1

    Whoever the lease points to

Who books the repair depends on what has stopped and on the lease. A dark suite can trace back to a feeder or a meter bank shared with the suites next door, which the lease may leave to the owner or the property manager. Where suite panels hang in a locked electrical room, the visit is set up with whoever holds that key.

  2. 2

How much is out, in a sentence

One outlet, one room, the whole suite, or the whole building: that determines whether the electrician starts at the device, the suite's panel, or the building's service. Say too whether anything else in the building is dark, such as the suite next door.

  3. 3

    Fixed, or written up first

The fault is traced to its source. A failed receptacle or breaker can be replaced, or a loose connection remade, on the visit, and work larger than the visit is written up as an estimate before it starts.

What we cover

Scaled to How Much Went Dark

One receptacle or one fixture: A worn receptacle at a desk or a checkout, a switch that no longer holds, or a light fixture whose ballast or driver has failed.

One room, or one row of lights: A breaker that trips or won't reset, a loose connection somewhere on the circuit, or a break room where too much is plugged into one string of outlets.

One suite: The suite's own panel, the feeder that runs to it from the meter bank, and a main breaker that won't hold.

One piece of equipment: The dedicated circuit and connection that feed a refrigerator, a compressor, or an office machine that keeps shutting off. The machine itself is serviced by its maker or vendor.

The whole building: A shared service, a meter bank, or a feeder serving several tenants, worked out with the owner and, where the service itself is involved, with the power company.

Outside the door: Pole lights over the lot and the circuit to a storefront or roadside sign, which have pages of their own below.

Pricing

The Cost of an Office or Shop Repair

01

Custom homes and large or multi-phase projects are estimated as soon as we can, or on the timeline your project sets.

02

Repair and troubleshooting visits are billed by the hour from arrival: $100 residential, $150 commercial, one-hour minimum, then half-hour increments, plus materials. No trip charge and no service fee. No hidden fees: the 3.5% surcharge on card and ACH payments is listed in our terms.

03

We don't do upfront pricing. No job has a standard price with us: each one is tailored to the property and the work you've asked for, and priced once we've seen it.

We offer free estimates on installations, upgrades, and replacements in our service area. Estimates aren't free when the job needs troubleshooting or testing to price, falls after hours or outside our service area, needs several meetings to gather information, or is new construction or a custom remodel with multi-party walk-throughs. For most jobs, estimates arrive by email by the end of the next business day, and quotes are good for 30 days.

Our warranty

04

If something we installed fails because of our workmanship within 30 days of completion, we waive the hourly labor to put it right. Materials Kennedy Electric purchases for your job carry the manufacturer's one-year warranty. To replace defective materials we supplied, or materials damaged by storm, flood, fire, or other acts of God, we charge a reduced warranty labor rate of $50 an hour residential and $75 an hour commercial. The warranty does not cover materials not purchased by Kennedy Electric, work performed by the customer, or materials the customer purchased or damaged. Our warranty terms are printed on the estimate, the invoice, and the receipt, and the product boxes stay with you so you can register each product with its manufacturer.

Common questions

Repairs in Leased and Medical Space

Our office on State Road 52 lost power to the back rooms, but the front desk still works. Where does that start?

With the circuits that feed the back rooms. When only part of a suite goes dark, the cause can be a single breaker, a single circuit, a loose connection on it, or even the building's service. If nothing is wet and nothing smells hot, a tripped breaker in the suite's panel may be reset one time. After a second trip, or if water has reached anything on that circuit, it is left off until an electrician has looked at it. For smoke, sparks, or flames, clear the building first and call 911.

We're in a medical office near the hospital on Fivay Road. Will you work on our equipment?

We repair the wiring that feeds it: the circuit, the receptacle or hard-wired connection, and the breaker. Repairing or calibrating the equipment itself is the responsibility of its maker or the vendor that services it. If a unit keeps tripping its breaker, note which one and when, so that the circuit can be tested.

Our office lost power on a Saturday. When can someone come out?

Calls after hours are returned the next business day. The office is closed on weekends, so a Saturday call is returned when it reopens. No power at the business counts as an emergency, and emergency estimates are done the same business day. Over the weekend, leave the main breaker as it is and note which rooms are dark and which still have power, so the visit can start in the right place.

We'd like the outlets at our reception desk moved. Is that a repair?

Not by the county's rules, even with nothing broken. Moving an outlet means extending its circuit to the new spot, which Pasco treats as permit work on a commercial property, so the move is written up as an estimate first, and the permit application and inspection booking are handled on our side.

Our landlord wants a safety inspection of the building's wiring. Can problems be fixed during it?

Not on that permit. Pasco's electrical safety inspection permit prohibits any electrical work, so anything the inspection finds is repaired as separate work. The inspection report then becomes the list the repair starts from.
